Adam Spies is Co-Head of U.S. Capital Markets at Newmark, where he and his longtime partner Doug Harmon advise on many of the largest commercial transactions in the country. The pair ranked first in New York capital markets in 2022, closing nearly $5.7 billion, and over a recent five-year span handled the city's largest office, apartment, and industrial sales.
Those deals include the $2.85 billion sale of 1 Manhattan West and the $2.4 billion sale of Chelsea Market to Google, one of the largest single-building sales in New York history. Spies began at Eastdil Secured in 1999, became a leading dealmaker alongside Harmon, moved with him to Cushman & Wakefield as chairmen of capital markets, and joined Newmark in 2023.
