Bob Knakal

Bob Knakal is recognized by Broker Honors in New York, NY and is affiliated with BKREA (BK Real Estate Advisors).

Bob Knakal has been personally responsible for the sale of more than 2,400 buildings in New York City over a career spanning four decades — generally regarded as the highest total ever recorded by a single New York broker — worth more than $24 billion. He co-founded Massey Knakal Realty Services in 1988 and built it into the city's dominant building-sales firm, outselling its nearest competitor more than three to one for fourteen straight years before Cushman & Wakefield acquired it in 2014 for roughly $100 million.

He went on to chair New York investment sales at Cushman & Wakefield and then at JLL before launching BK Real Estate Advisors in 2024 on three rules he has kept his whole career: represent only sellers, work only on exclusive assignments, and sell only in New York City. Knakal has written more than 500 articles, including his long-running "Concrete Thoughts" column for the Commercial Observer, and co-authored the book "Selling Buildings."
